    Default CMP M1D Prices

Looking for opinions on prices for CMP M1 sniper prices and I thought I'd go to the experts here-

    http://thecmp.org/cmp_sales/rifle_sales/m1-garand/

Has anyone bought one ? Collection value ?

I have other M1's as shooters, this one might be shot a couple of times and then put away.

    Thanks in advance as always.

The last M1D I saw for sale in a gun shop was priced around 3500, it didn't last long and the shop doesn't negotiate prices so I'm sure it sold for 3500.

How much do you want to pay for one?

I won an M1D in the DCM lottery in 1991. Paid $650.00 for it. Sold it in 2005 for $3800.00
In good shape and if they are "real" originals they are most likely worth alot more today.
BTW, not sorry I sold it. I tested it against my Mosin sniper. The Mosin beat it by a long shot. No pun intended.

Be careful of M1's listed on Armslist. I found 2 scams this week.

Since any Garand can be converted to an M1D you need a CMP certificate or other documentation that an M1D is real. If not it is just worth the value of the parts.

I have always been tempted to get one. But with the CMP price creeping up and the original scope and mount prices skyrocketing I will pass.
