Definition of Antique Firearm to Change
Another step in the right direction.
"A Senate measure would change the federal definition of an antique firearm from one made before 1899 to one that is 100 years old.
Introduced earlier this month as S.1541, the move would dramatically increase the number of older guns that are available to collectors that could be sold and shipped without a Federal Firearms License.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives generally does not regulate antique guns as defined under federal law as one made in or before 1898 that is not otherwise controlled by National Firearms Act."

Re: Definition of Antique Firearm to Change
Interesting. Is that the model or the year of manufacture? Pretty damned silly to allow a 1911 made on or before 1917 but exclude 1918 on of the same damned gun.

Yep. I guess we should count ourselves lucky and gratefully thank Uncle Sam for letting us have some exceptions. Especially this newer one (which probably won't pass). :-(

Re: Definition of Antique Firearm to Change
-anything- that isn't currently in general service in the US military should be considered historic and be allowed to transfer without an FFL.
i mean... if we "have" to have the rule.
if we can simply do away with the red tape and all... well then we can sum firearms regulations up in a short paragraph... oh our wise forefathers seem to have already done that. -_-'There is no way to make it out alive...

Spend $30 and get a C&R 03 FFL.
