Default Good encounters at McDonald's and Shop Rite

Took daughter to McDonald's for a (rare) fast food treat for lunch. Open carried a Beretta Cheetah 85fs.

Saw a NJ plate in the parking lot. Standing in line, a large older man with an 'Army' hat and a cane gets in line behind me. He asks, 'Is that legit in PA?', nodding at the pistol. I smile and said 'Yes sir, it is'. He said, 'oh, that's cool'.

Later, as I was putting my kid in her car seat, a large pickup with a man and woman (20's-30s') pulls in next to my SUV. The man gets out, and declares loudly, 'It's nice to see someone open carrying around here!' He then lifts his shirt to show his Glock 26.

A few weeks earlier, I was in Shop Rite with the wife to pick up a few things. A woman, 40's, comes up to me and says, 'I don't see open carry around here; good job!'.

Awesome! I live in Thorndale and never see people that are openly carrying. I love reading stories about encounters you have (good/bad) with people in the community.

Had a similar experience at the McDonald's in Hamburg just a little while ago. Went in for some sweet tea, and while in line a gentleman said, "Wow, that's a nice revolver! Don't see many of those. Are you law enforcement, or just open carrying?" Told him the latter, and he thought that was awesome. His buddy came out of the restroom and got in line just as it was my turn to order, and he was telling his buddy all about it. "You can open carry in this state. Isn't that awesome? Man, I love it here!"

I agreed with him, got my drink, and went on my way. Nice and positive, the way it should be! ...Well, actually, it should be completely neutral as it shouldn't be seen as a big deal, but we don't live in an ideal world. So, I'll take positive any day of the week.

I can't believe that man brandished his glock.

It's one thing for the guy to give ya an attaboy for open carrying but he didn't have to raise his shirt and reveal his hand cannon.

Absolutely! I like McDonald's breakfast, so if you're going to be lifting up clothes to compare things please get a room. I'm trying to eat.

I once had a fat chick flash her tits at me.

Mandatory concealed carry is a good idea for some people.
