I truly feel that most of Knoebels signage is strictly for insurance reasons and not because they want to enforce it.

It's no different than the "No Alcohol" signs at state park camp grounds. Out of sight, out of mind, don't cause trouble.

If you start to cause trouble it gives them a rule to point to as justification for your removal.

ETA: THANK YOU PAMedic for the leg work that you did on this a couple of years ago.

It really wasn't anything other than messaging them. It is a family owned park, they are very pro military & pro carry, but like anyone who deals with the pubic, they have to deal with lots of stupid people.

Just don't be one of the stupid people & you'll not have a problem.

Its no different than the "no guns" signs at major movie theaters, shopping malls and baseball stadiums.

    .

haven't been to a campground since my kids were small.

there was always a large contingent of overly intoxicated individuals ....most were there with family/kids

overly intoxicated drunks tend to lead to be argumentative individuals

having weapons there could lead to a disaster even if you happen to be sober and are attacked by a drunkard using an improvised weapon of some sort

i doubt that would bode well for their "family friendly" reputation

Movie theaters and malls don't *usually* have metal detectors.

    Stadiums, however...

Does that make it OK for them to squash your rights?

My thoughts exactly. You should probably see a shrink.
Let's not forget there are still species of tropical penguins living in the Galapagos.
