Re: Oaks Gun Show 8/5 & 6. Need info
Hoping to pick up a .22 bolt gun for my 11yr old. Any stand out regulars there that you'd recommend I spend my money with?

Re: Oaks Gun Show 8/5 & 6. Need info
At the Harrisburg show I have been asked several times, "do you have a gun that needs cleared and secured?" I answer truthfully - "no". That's no as in my gun is just fine safely tucked in my holster.

Re: Oaks Gun Show 8/5 & 6. Need info
Oh and Go early I remember last time I went the line was litterally out the door, around the bldg into the pkng lot, then cars lined up through the entrance, out the street, onto 422 exit and backed up 1/2 mile, in the freezing rain. But this was a couple weeks after Sandy Hook and Obama was in office, there was no ammo of any sort at any store except .22-250, 30-30 and low brass shotgun shells. You could get 5.56 NATO, and 7.62 9m, and .45 but it always seemed "by the ammocan" to get a decent price.
AR15s were 700- $1K+, AKs were 700- $1.5+, M1 garand "junk ass grade" broken stocks worn out actions and missing parts were $600 Moist nuggets were, well you get the picture.
Its not that way now, But there are some old smelly redneck tire thumprer dry firing the rifles with greasy hands, that would camp out at the good tables, Jazzy chair aisle riders intent on breaking some ankles, Oh and some "good Beef Jerky, Knives and some decent gear bargains" spar parts,. Sometimes you need to Haggle.
What made me feel good was so many people were there , buying guns as a huge FU to obama and his "we need commonsense gun laws and to close that gun sow loop hole, think of the children, military guns do not belong on our streets they're mass weapons of war and destruction." nonsense.Last edited by bigandy1966; August 4th, 2017 at 07:04 AM.
