    Default 2016/2017 Season Goals

I threw out some cameras and cleared some vines by a stand the other night and got to thinking about the upcoming season. I have a few goals in mind for it. How about you guys?

    1. PA archery buck
    2. PA doe Ruger SBH
    3. Of course a PA bear
    4. NY archery buck
    5. NY big game buck with new T/C inline
    6. NY bear with same inline
    7. I will hunt PA squirrels with a Ruger 10/22
    8. I would really like to trap the 65 pound plus matriarch beaver from a colony I have been trapping for three years. 15 beavers trapped, and I continue to get her passing my trail cameras....LOL

More importantly, I want to be present when the adult that I introduced to hunting last season bags his first deer.

MOST importantly, I want to see my daughter get her first buck. She has no interest in archery hunting, so we will have to wait till the rifle season.

It will be here before we know it. If I woke up tomorrow and it was 50 degrees with leaves swirling in the driveway, I would be a happy man.

    Let's see:

    1) Spend time in the woods with my 85 year old dad
    2) Spend time in the woods with my buddies.
    3) Squirrels with the 10/22
    4) Tag a deer with the flintlock (almost had a buck last year but blew it)
    5) Put some deer meat in the freezer.

To summarize in two words, Have Fun!

    1) get a new bow and get out with it
    2) groundhogs and/or coyotes with AR here
    3) squirrels with Marlin 60 or 10/22 here
    4) dove or geese on opportunity here or elsewhere
    5) deer with bow or PRS rifle here
    6) deer and/or feral hog with AR10 in Alabama

Now that we have small game and varmints we need to maximize on that and get deer, bear, and elk with semi auto in PA in the next year or two. I've got my .308 load worked up with 165gr SST, definitely want to do one with AccuBond or GMX for elk (and/or get a .300 SAUM upper for it).
