Re: Walmart employee going way too far for one box of .380
Federal law allows the sale of rifle/shotgun ammunition at age 18, but it's 21 for handgun ammunition. Of course it's a completely arbitrary distinction, and since 22LR is commonly used for both they'll still sell it to an 18-20 year old as long as you claim it's for use in a rifle.
Even though pistol caliber carbines exist, rounds like 9mm that are traditionally only used in handguns they'll just flat out refuse to sell them to people under 21.
It's a dumb law, but that's hardly anything new with gun control laws.

Does a customer have to be a certain age to buy firearms or ammunition from a licensee?
Yes. Under the Gun Control Act (GCA), shotguns and rifles, and ammunition for shotguns or rifles may be sold only to individuals 18 years of age or older. All firearms other than shotguns and rifles, and all ammunition other than ammunition for shotguns or rifles may be sold only to individuals 21 years of age or older. Licensees are bound by the minimum age requirements established by the GCA regardless of State or local law. However, if State law or local ordinances establish a higher minimum age for the purchase or disposition of firearms, the licensee must observe the higher age requirement.

Thankfully, 38 is a common rifle round.
He said the company may argue that the bullets purchased by Jourdain for West could be used in either handguns or rifles, and that the lower age limit of 18 for purchases of ammunition for rifles should apply in the case.
Shira Goodman, executive director of CeasefirePA, an anti-gun group in Philadelphia, said negligent behavior by sellers might prove to be a way for some victims of gun violence to get around the protective federal law.
Reuters/fortune actually said it correctly. Anti-gun

It was the East Stroudsburg WalMart. They said their stores policy is that they wont sell airguns to NJ residents unless they have their NJ FID card. Doesn't matter that they are in Pa and its legal to purchase without one. We live close enough to NJ that Monroe Co. gets polluted with NJs poisonous politics and logic.

Re: Walmart employee going way too far for one box of .380
I hate living here at times. It's the ghetto. I was working up in Mt. Pocono and all my ghetto trash coworkers thought I was nuts because I like hunting and guns. I grew in Wayne/Pike Co. where hunting and guns is a way of life. Lots of slime and trash around here that have done nothing but turn the Stroudsburg area into the hood and raise the cost of living. I want to get out but my financial situation keeps me here.
