Definition of "Concealed CaRRY"

As has been noted there is no specific definition of Concealed in the PA. Also as has been noted open carry is lawful. The only place I have ever seen any sort of definition of either is when it comes to a fire arm in an car or a truck. A fire arm in a car is considered to be concealed. Even if it is sitting on the dash board in plain sight it is considered concealed. You can transport your fire arm in your vehicle with out a permit but it must be unloaded and the ammo has to be stored in a separate locked container.

With a permit you can transport the fire arm loaded. Within the state of course.

This is possible IF when transporting an unloaded firearm, it is for one of the purposes listed as an exemption to 6106 (a).

Or any state that recognizes the PA LTCF, provided such carry is abiding that state's laws.

Transport to target shooting or ffl unloaded without a ltcf. Can’t just drive around. Someone expand on this I don’t feel like typing

Exemptions for transport are listed in 6106 section 8:

(8) Any person while carrying a firearm which is not loaded and is in a secure wrapper from the place of purchase to his home or place of business, or to a place of repair, sale or appraisal or back to his home or place of business, or in moving from one place of abode or business to another or from his home to a vacation or recreational home or dwelling or back, or to recover stolen property under section 6111.1(b)(4) (relating to Pennsylvania State Police), or to a place of instruction intended to teach the safe handling, use or maintenance of firearms or back or to a location to which the person has been directed to relinquish firearms under 23 Pa.C.S. § 6108 (relating to relief) or back upon return of the relinquished firearm or to a licensed dealer's place of business for relinquishment pursuant to 23 Pa.C.S. § 6108.2 (relating to relinquishment for consignment sale, lawful transfer or safekeeping) or back upon return of the relinquished firearm or to a location for safekeeping pursuant to 23 Pa.C.S. § 6108.3 (relating to relinquishment to third party for safekeeping) or back upon return

Just make sure you don't put an SKS in a gun case when walking home from the park unless you have your CCW.
