Mindset

Examples of AR-15 variant rifles (unloaded) will be shown. (Students may bring an UNLOADED personally owned AR-15 variant, in a hard case or soft bag.)

Instructor will then take the students through the field disassembly/re-assembly and go over components and their function.

Demonstration of loading/unloading (of empty mags) and number of rounds per magazine; practice.

A briefing of the fundamentals of marksmanship will be undertaken (stance, breathing, trigger control, sight off-set), and a brief explanation of point-of-aim/point-of-impact and zeroing.

Basic shooting stances will be explained, demonstrated, and practiced. Various sighting systems (iron sights, back-up iron sights, red-dot optics, and magnification) will be introduced.
