Looking for advice on buying a case trimmer.

I am primarily loading just .223 for an AR but load small quantities of .30/30 and 7.62x54r.

Presently I trim using a Lee case gauge and cutter. http://leeprecision.com/gage-holder-223-rem.html
Then I use as chamfer tool on the inside and outside of the case mouth.
This is quite tedious and I am looking for a better alternative.

I had a gracey, had to return it, the rubber hose that connects the trimmer
to the shaft got so hot from the motor, it would twist up and almost break.
Now I use a harbor freight 8" drill press (for the .50bmg) and a lyman for everything else.

Fast, accurate, easy on the hands. I have the older model that trims flat. The new one also deburs and chamfers. Read some of the reviews.

Another one that seemed to get a good bit of positive reviews is the Little Crow WFT.
Only no deburr with that one.

Buy a Giraud for small batch work or a Dillon 1050 with their press mounted trimmer for bulk work.

Different cartridges here but the same set up has worked for me for a long time. Lyman also has a chamfer/deburr tool that replaces the cutter head on the trimmer. I use that with the hand crank, my fingers had a run in with it while using the drill. No major damage but not something I want to repeat.

I can tell you what not to buy. Stay away from the Hornady Cam Lock. I hate mine.

First you must use Hornady shell holders in it, and Hornady shell holders do not work in my RCBS hand priming tool. Thus I have duplicate shell holders in different brands for multiple calibers. Second, I find it a PITA to set up or adjust. The problem is the shaft the shell holder is on. This spins to move in and out. It is secured by a lock wheel. The problem is the bar that the lock wheel engages on this shaft is much harder metal and galls the shaft, causing it to stick in place after loosening the lock wheel. So then you need to tighten up the shell holder to spin the shaft around and break it free, which of course then leaves the shell holder tight. Simply not clamping down as hard on the lock wheel and bar doesn't work, as then the shaft just spins with the case as you try to trim.

Every time I have to use the thing I wish I had just bought the RCBS.
