Default Pike county area Gun Clubs

I live in the Milford area and I'm looking for a better place to go shooting. Right now I just go to the public range on Rt 6 but I would like to find a place to shoot skeet, trap, pistols, rifles. Also are there any indoor pistol ranges around? Any info would be appreciated, thanks.

I havent joined yet so I'm not 100% with the info, but the Tri State Rod & Gun Club in Port Jervis is very reasonable and they have an indoor handgun range (not sure about rifle). From what I understand because they are a sactioned club it is legal to have your handgun in NY only in a locked boxed in your vehicle while going to and from the club. Again I am not a member yet so I'm not possitive. You might need a member to go with to sign up. There meetings are the 2nd monday of the month. you may try and give them a call to find out.

I got this info off they web:
Tri-States Rod & Gun Club, 266 North Orange St., Port Jervis, NY 12771.
    Phone: 845-856-3988
Facilities include: Outdoor Pistol (75, 150 ft), Indoor Pistol (50 ft), Outdoor Rifle (50, 100 yds), Indoor Rifle (50 ft), Trap, Archery
    Range Access: Private

Are you familiar with any other clubs in the Lackawaxen / Shohola / Milford areas?

Also, there used to be a firing range on the State Forest land near Firetower Road, just southeast of SGL 209. any info about if that' still open for shooting?

    Hey guys,

Not sure why I didn't see this sooner, but I'm going to move it to the Pike County Forum.

The only State range around that I know of is on RT 6. If you take Rt 6 west from Milford towards Lake Wallenpaupack, It's about a mile past the intersection of 402 on the right hand side. It's the dirt rd just before the small lake. It is an absolute nightmare on the weekend. If you go, get there after 6pm, or go right when it opens. The 100yrd range usually isn't too bad, it's the pistol range that sucks. If you can go during the week.

I heard a little bit about the Matamoras Rod and Gun club. Apparently when they accept new members you have to buy a share of the club then pay annual dues. I heard it was around $3000 initial buy in, plus around $300/ year to join. I guess you can make payments on the $3K.

It may not be Pike county, but Sunset Hill Shooting Range in Tannersville is one of the nicest places to shoot. If you live in Dingmans Ferry, a short drive will bring you down to Stroudsburg and then another short drive west on 80 will bring you to the the exit you need. I go there as often as humanly possible (once every week or every two weeks to be exact). Here's their web site...

Unlike the Route 6 range, they don't care how big your ammo magazine is or how many rounds you fire at one time. The only rule they have is no rapid fire, unless you happen to own a FA weapon, and they take saftey very seriously.
