Re: 1911 Question
I have a RIA CS compact as well but it's in .45. The forum got it right, full size and commander mags are the same and officers model and compact are acronyms and use the same mag. I can use full size mags in my RIA compact but they stick out about half of an inch. Maybe your extended magwell will cover that but you can't slam them in or you could pass the mag catch and jam them up too far. They're ok for range use anyway.

Thanks all for the input. Extra mags on the way......
A Republic, if you can keep it.

Re: 1911 Question
Just sharing a funny/rant. Last week I bought 5 new Sig 1911 45 mags for my new Sig 1911 "We The People" gun. I went to try them over the weekend and there to short and dont fit in the gun. I discarded the boxes they came in when I received during the week and now cant return. I thought all 1911 mags were a standard size...

Re: 1911 Question
Do you have any kind of magwell? Mags with wide baseplates won't work with magwells, unless they are designed specifically for them. I have a few stock Taurus mags, which seat just fine in a bare frame, but not with either magwell I run. I also have a 5-pack of mags, made specifically for the full wrap-around funnel-type magwells, that are 1/4" longer from mag catch to baseplate - you don't want to use these without one of those magwells (DAMHIKT).

Phillysoldier i'm sorry to hear about your dilemma but I have a feeling they would sell pretty quick on the forum here if you want to try to minimize your loss

Re: 1911 Question
For spares, get either Chip McCormick or Wilson Combat 10 rounders. Always good to have as much in reserve as possible.
Those who dare.
