Re: Discrimination while getting LTCF?
OK, so they didn't hear an accent and decide to grill him about his citizenship - he told them without being required to?
I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Re: Discrimination while getting LTCF?
What if...
I have seen many who had military parents and were born overseas and answered such on the 4473. Then they answered US Citizen on those questions. I have had PICS ask for citizenship after I stated their birthplace was another country.
So what if one of my parents was ambassador to the Soviet Union, and I was born there. If at least one of my parents are a US citizen so I would be automatically. (Same as being born stateside even to non-US citizen parents, the child is a US citizen or at least it used to be that way.)
In any case, a long term employment might mean I grow up there with an accent though schooled in English schools. In this case, I would be pissed having to constantly prove my citizenship due to my situation regarding language and accent.
Is citizenship not something that a background check would uncover or determine? Why would the applicant need prove it? It seems, though, they just go by how the questions are answered. Never had to ask for a birth certificate or passport etc. of anyone ... yet.
It must have been done as part of the LTCF Sheriff investigation and was discretionary. I would definitely question it.It is you. You have all the weapons that you need. Now fight. --Sucker Punch

Re: Discrimination while getting LTCF?
I'm a naturalized citizen. At the time I got my montco ltcf, Bono required naturalized citizens to show their passport, so I brought it with me. I probably shouldn't have, but it was my first attempt and I didn't want to get jammed up. Never had an issue with pics.

Re: Discrimination while getting LTCF?
Though naturalized, the last time I renewed my LTCF (note renewal) in Montco, the deputy wanted to see my passport (I happened to have it with me for anther reason). No amount of "where is the part that requires a passport" would sway the deputy, so I finally showed him my passport as I needed the renewed LTCF. Even pointing out that this was my fifth renewal did not work. I guess they are not hired for intellect! Dave_n

Re: Discrimination while getting LTCF?
Us filthy immigrants need to show our papers.....
I'm going to attempt to renew early (maybe by a month or so) next time, and I'll be sure to NOT bring my passport.... we'll see what happens.

LET IT SLIDE because he was right!!!
There is another question (7b) that asks for place of birth that I missed in my previous posts - mea culpa. I came to the realization last night when I got an unsettled feeling that I may nave missed something. My wife grew up and emigrated (Legally ) from a country that was Communist Bloc at the time and I vaguely recalled her entering something about it on her LTCF form. She never was challenged by the Chester County sheriff office to prove her citizenship.

He should have just entered Earth in 7b.
