    Thank you all for your replies. I just got a new upper that was stripped and looks like it will take to polishing well. I was going to have it cerakoted and the company said they'd strip my other stuff for cheap if I sent it to them.

    You also need to remove any ferrous metal parts like steel pins or inserts before anodizing.
