Unless things have changed, a public high school requiring police service calls the PSP, and refuses admittance to township police. Happened back around 1968 at the old Del Haas High. Kids were raising hell and wrecking the place and fighting. Teacher or whatever she was told the local PD to get out, they were waiting for the state police. I forget the aftermath.

Times have changed. Our school district has township police on site daily as school resource officers.

Except that a School District is a Government entity (unless it is a private school), so any such policy is illegal as school districts are local political subdivisions (agencies) of the State.

No different that the regulations on Casinos. Which even that felon Kane said was illegal.

Hell, given that anyone that enforces the policy is a government official, you could turn around a criminal complaint of official oppression under color of law.

I take our FJ out in the field to shoot, but my wife drives it to work every day as a HS teacher, so I'm very careful not to leave items in the car.

Now that I think about it, I would like to hear the arguments for and against state preemption w/r/t a school firearms policy for teachers (employees). A school is a quasi-public institution supported by state tax dollars and highly regulated by the state DoE. How is an elected school board any different than an elected city council? It could be argued they have even more power to tax, and it could be argued that since state law has clearly been written w/r/t schools, preemption should apply to workers policy as well.

Can a township really prevent employees, or a school board prevent teachers, from carrying on the job?
More than that, under the Emergency Mgt Act of 1978 PEMA (which anyone with access to the States Con ed classes can take for 3 hours of credit), I learned that teachers, as government employees are required to staff & maintain order in the event of a school being used as a disaster shelter.

It is a fact I keep in the back of my head. I've yet to meet the teacher who was aware of that little gem in the Commonwealth law.
