Washington County Tactical Range is hosting a 1,000 yard shoot on August 12th from 9:00am to ~6:00pm+ in West Finley PA about 15 minutes from the range at a private landowner’s farm. Entry fee is $30 with the best shooter receiving $100 plus bragging rights and trophy. Only 30 shooters will be allowed at our second 1,000 yard shoot.

Tickets:
Tickets go on sale July 15th at Washington County Tactical Range office or you can mail a check to us. ONLY shooters and their one guest are allowed at the event due to this being a private farm with limited parking. If you do not have a ticket, or are not the guest of a ticket holder, you will not be allowed on the range for any reason.

Food and Drinks:
Free pizza will be provided for lunch. Free ice water will be provided with soda and ice tea available to purchase for $1.

Steel Targets:
550 yards - 12" & 24"
600 yards - 12" & 24"
700 yards - 12" & 24"
800 yards - 12" & 24"
900 yards - 12" & 24"
1,000 yards – 8", 10", 12" & 24"

Scoring:
8” Targets = 6 points
10” Targets = 4 points
12” Targets = 2 points
24” Targets = 1 point

Rounds required:
Minimally 30 rounds, however top shooters may shoot up to 50+ rounds. Every shooter will shoot 5 rounds at each distance: 550, 600, 700, 800, 900, and 1,000.

Weather:
Rain or shine since rain just makes it more interesting. In case of unsafe lightning storms, event will be held on Sunday, August 13th.

Schedule:
1: All shooters must be signed in by 9:00am.
2: 8:00am to 9:00am will be used for practice. Shooters can ONLY shoot the 2' practice target at 700 yards during this time.
3: Required safety briefing at 9:15am.
4: First 3 shooters on the line promptly at 9:25am with first shots down range at 9:30am.

Shooting Sequence:
Three shooters will be on the line with shooters 2 and 3 on the line waiting their turn. 1st shooter at each distance will have 3 minutes to take 5 shots. Every other shooter at that distance will have 2 minutes to take 5 shots with a 1 minute break between shooters while next shooter takes the place of the shooter that just shot. After each shooter completes his 5 shots, their shooting position will be taken over by next shooter not already on the line. Shooters have the option of using a bench or prone position. At the start of the day, there will be a random drawing for shooting sequence with 1st shooter at 550 yards becoming the last shooter at 600 yards. 1st shooter at 600 yards then becomes last shooter at 700 yards, etc.

Tie Breaker:
If 2+ shooters are tied after 1,000 yard distance, those tied shooters will use the 1' target at 1,000 yard distance with each shooter shooting 5 rounds. If 2+ shooters are still tied afterwards, those remaining shooters will shoot 5-rounds at the 10" target at 1,000 yards and repeat until winner is decided.

Range Rules:
1: No one under 16 years old is allowed on range including the parking area. No Exceptions.
2: Only one guest per shooter is allowed. Guest may be a spotter.
3: No alcohol permitted.
4: Guests are NOT permitted to fire weapons.
5: Shooters and Guests must sign release form upon arriving.
6: All competition rifles must have an empty chamber flag installed until shooter is on the line or have bolt out of firearm.
7: Only competition rifles and holstered handguns are allowed on range.
8: Spotters are allowed.
9: Absolutely no pets of any kind.

NOTE: Anyone with kids under 16 or with a pet will be DQ and removed from range.

Rifle and Ammo Rules:
1: Only bi-pod or soft bag is allowed for front support. Only soft bag is allowed on back support.
2: No armor piercing rounds.
3: Any caliber up to .338 Lapua Magnum.

Wind Socks:
Wind socks will be at 50, 700, and 1,000 yards.

Target Area:
There will be ~6" grass around targets.
