Re: Senate approves bill to allow guns in schools
Sure is ironic how screwed up an idea can become when enough hands get into the act. The race horse that looks like a camel result.

Re: Senate approves bill to allow guns in schools
Why is another reg needed?
§912. Possession of Weapon on School Property.
(c) Defense—It shall be a defense that the weapon is possessed and used in conjunction with a lawful supervised school activity or course or is possessed for other lawful purpose. (Added by L.1980, Act 167(1), eff. 12/15/80.)

Can't wait for Wolf to sign it!
It's all academic, but a move in the right direction.

Re: Senate approves bill to allow guns in schools
The above is not a really solution to this problem.
As stated, it is a "defense". In other words, after you are charged, your lawyer who is billing you $25,000 can argue that "defense" and a jury is allowed to accept that as a legitimate "defense" if proven, in their opinion.Help us restore election integrity in PA. Join PA Voters United

Most leftist teachers could care less what happens to the kids as long the union gets their overpaid and under worked contract. Their kids go to elite private schools anyway.
Corruption is the default behavior of government officials. JPC

Re: Senate approves bill to allow guns in schools
Without full republican support, there is not enough votes for an override of a Wolf veto.

Re: Senate approves bill to allow guns in schools
While a shooter is shooting people, it is far better to wait for the police to arrive and bring the guns to bear on a shooter. Police never suffer confusion during the planning stages of entering unfamiliar physical plant, unable to quickly recognize all teachers and students and pick out the person who does not belong. What would be the point in arming a teacher or teachers who do know the place and the people in it, and have located the source of the gunshot(s) within the building before the 911 call went out.
{end of sarc}
One of the problems in arming teachers is anti-gun fellow teachers distrustful of any among them being armed.
