Well I purchased Two Shields a 9mm and a 45 on April 1st.I was saying to the LGS I have not recieved any rebates yet two $75 checks.This morning got an e-mail from S&W apology that if you purchased a Shiel and submitted paperwork you will get your check around July 7th ! WTF 3 Monts for a rebate ? and now a big push by S&W dropping prices on Shields ? Never waited this long for a rebate totally inconveinent ! seems S&W is taking proceedures from the IRS when a refund is due !

I have zero faith in S&W rebates, in fact I'm kind of turned off to buying their products, unless it's on the used market.

I bought a M&P15-22 a few years back. They had a rebate where they were supposed to send a brick of ammo. Never got it. I followed up with them several times, kept being told it would be sent soon, and finally they just stopped responding.

So, instead of buying new S&Ws and hoping for a rebate, I'll get used ones and save the cash up front.

I've had plenty of rebates take at least that long.

Not surprised. It's the game you play with rebates.
They count on a certain percentage of applicants to forget to even send in the forms.
There is no rush to give away money.

Longest I ever had to wait for a rebate from and firearm MFG was 3-4 weeks 1 we want no excuses,we just want our rebates when told it would take 3-4 weeks. Definitley puts me off from buying any new S&Ws again !

Walther currently has a similar program. If you read the fine print in the terms and conditions area in the link you find the Walther rebate takes 8-12 weeks.
