    Default Gun 'kicks'

    No, not recoil.

I noticed a trend in my gun purchases: I get these 'kicks'. Or 'phases' if you will.

For a while, I went through a revolver kick. At one point, all I owned were revolvers. While I still like wheelguns, I now am on a 1911 style kick. Currently carry a Colt Defender 45, or an Ithaca 1911, or a SIG p238 cocked and locked.

I was on a SIG P series kick a while back. Now, the only DA/SA guns I have are a 2nd Gen. S&W and a Ruger P series.

    Anyone else notice this trend?

One of my co workers has a bunch of wheelguns and seems to swear by them so I guess that's his "kick".I have yet to own one but I might someday.

I have .More than a few guns. Most of them .22's. why .22's. they are just cheaper go buy and shoot.

I have carry guns. And big boomers, but .22's are just more shootable.

Just don't get into an H&K P7 kick..... It can be real expensive.

I've gone through, and continually cycle these kicks

ARs to Handguns to 1911s to Bolt guns, throw in a random archery kick here and there, back to ARs and the cycle restarts.

The one staple for me has become over/unders. Something about turning clays into dust....

My kicks are slower and less drastic, I only like to buy not sell

And of course it would be different if I had more available funds

Mine are oriented around need, filling gaps, and also what's at a low point price wise. Right now AR10's are cheaper than they've ever been and I only have one, so that's what's next for one or two. For a while, I needed optics, now I have what I need minus maybe one. Needed carry guns, now have compact, subcompact, and deep carry, so won't be buying one unless it's a 2nd of something for the wife. Was short 5.56 and .40 brass, now have more than I'll ever need.

One year everyone's dumping full size 40's, next you can't find one on the shelf and everyone's dumping 9's, SKS's were dirt cheap then quadrupled now back out but not as cheap, etc. etc.
