Can I own a firearm w/ drug charge(s)? Please advise!

If you think pot is a safe drug then maybe you should reconsider owning a firearm.

Pot is not a 'drug' , THC is. Much like nicotine , caffeine and alcohol.

If it's possession of drug paraphernalia you're good. If it's possession of marijuana for personal use you're good. If it's ONE conviction for simple possession of drugs other than marijuana you're good. However, multiple convictions for simple possession of drugs other than marijuana can be prohibiting as second and subsequent convictions can result in a sentence exceeding two years. Any drug conviction prohibits you from getting a LTCF. I have three upgraded misdemeanor drug convictions on my record and pass the background check. Mine are two conversions for possession of drug paraphernalia and one for possession of marijuana for personal use. I hope I helped. That's the case with Pa convictions anyway. I am told the possession of any amount of heroin is a felony in NJ.
