Shockwave inspired question....
Now that the Mossberg Shockwave is out and it is apparently legal to have a shotgun with a 14 inch barrel as long as it has no buttstock and meets OAL requirements does anyone predict "building" shotguns as we do ARs will become commonplace? Would it be legal to copy the specs of the shockwave and cut down an existing gun and add the birds head grip? Will shotgun receivers only be sold? Just a thought, I'm still content with my 18 inch barrel but since I mentioned that why do shotguns have to have an 18 inch barrel and ARs can have a 16 1/2?

I don't think so. The AR craze hit off due to the endless amount of customizing you can do to an AR. There isn't as much customization for the shockwave, since its on the edge of NFA rules

Re: Shockwave inspired question....
I don't think there would be enough of a market to produce and sell receivers. And Mossberg already makes a 14" conversion kit for PGO's.

The mossburg shockwave is built that way. Like ar pistol it can never have had a stock, also unlike ar it can never have a stock. In both cases it's sbs.

Re: Shockwave inspired question....
You can get a standard factory PGO Mossberg, cut it down to 14" and put on the grip and essentially end up with the Shockwave.
It's a solid move if you already have the PGO and want to change it up.

Aside from that, I doubt there will be much "building" going on.
As for me, I have a standard 18.5" Mossberg 500, with the crenelated breacher barrel, Magpul forend and the shockwave grip. Sure it's a tad longer, but it's every bit as cool to me. YMMV.
