Been tough to find since the shortage but slowly coming back, I shoot bunches of them in a small plinking range in my backyard, lots of fun
I use .22 Short's for my yard pests here in town, never a problem with neighbors or LEO's.

About every other year I have to get rid of a chuck. ....they like to burrow into my foundation at the same spot. I fill it in, then in a few months a new one moves in and digs it back out.

I keep my Iver Johnson 55A Target revolver loaded with shorts just for those pests.

We have the same problem at my house. My neighbors told me to shoot as many as I can. I have a .22 Henry lever rifle and some CCI mini-mags. Those fuckers can cause our horses to break their legs, then we'll have to put down the horses.

Honest question, can you shoot a .22 short out of a .22lr rifle?

Depends on the rifle. My Henry rifle can shoot .22 short, .22 long, and .22 long rifle. My Mossberg 701 Plinkster only shoots .22 long rifle.

I have several that shoot, short, long, and long rifle ammo. Bolt, pump, and lever action.
If they can handle it, it is marked on the barrel. No semis that I know unless you want to shoot them single shot since the small cartridges won't cycle the action.

No shit, I lived in a trailer years back.
Came home one day and there was a glass on the floor.
I immediately wanted to blame the cat for crawling up on the table but then I noticed something felt weird.
A damn groundhog had tunneled under the pylons and one corner of the trailer had dropped 4"...

Had to jack the place up, fill in their damn tunnel and it took three days to get rid of the thing.
I lived in the boonies so noise wasn't and issue.

I'd try the exhaust gas trick if I had one in town.

My old Winchester semi shoots CB's just fine single shot.

Isn't it great to live where your neighbors actually ask you to shoot?
