I open carried yesterday and got hassled in another thread. Walking around with real people? Not so much, only here..remarkable.
Go sell crazy some where else, we're all stocked up here.

You should "quit showing off" and "inconveniencing people".

If you are directing towards me, you are 100% incorrect and taking things 100% out of context. I simply stated an opinion CENTRIC to OC/CC. As I stated in the other thread, there is such a divide with in the carry community that it does more harm than good. I stated a centric opinion, and I am somehow coming off as anti-OC and hassling people. lol

I support OC, 100%.. I support CC, 100%. Plain and simple.

EDIT: See my other thread post as well... I think we are just misunderstanding each other in cross fire....

I open carried this weekend in Strattanville and Fisher.

I don't think anyone besides my wife even noticed.

I prefer CC but will OC also.

I don't care either way.. personal preference..
The whole "OC makes you a target" I don't really buy except for mouthy anti-gun folks.

This is exactly the way I see it.
The vehement anti-stigma of some oC'ERS caught me off guard and I was suddenly unsure how to defuse the misunderstanding. It just spiralled out of control.

Prefer CC as well, unless in a friendly environment, where I will not be hassled for it. I received some demerits for jumping all over a guy who OC and thinks its appropriate everywhere. Personally, I agree with the crowd that says it puts a bullseye on you. Its a matter of preference, I guess...

Have you ever OCed? Or OCed for a whole day while out at stores and restaurants etc? I have been OCing since 2009ish and encounters of any kind positive or negative are few and far between. Most people are oblivious to the fact that I'm carrying and it's near impossible to miss my XDm with a Trijicon RMR, a bright red magwell and bright red extended magazine base plate.

I used to think everyone would notice me and I would get hassled until I started OCing regularly. You learn how truly oblivious people are to their surroundings.

In the last year someone noticed me OCing twice and before these 2 times I can't remember how long it's been, probably a year or two. Both of these were positive/neutral encounters that lasted 30 seconds tops.

I don't believe for a second some criminal who already has their adrenaline pumping is going to notice you're OCing and shoot you first.

Whether OC or CC it's the same for me. It's like I'm not noticed more or less either way.

To each their own. Just don't tell me how to exercise my 2nd amendment rights and I won't tell you how to exercise yours.

In the conversations about OC vs CC, there are those who clearly take the opinions of others in stride and those who feel insulted and threatened by it to the point of seething retorts and indignance.
