    Many inner-city blacks who want to protect themselves from the carnage outside their doors will be unable to afford this requirement. The proposed law is racist.

    Sure...health insurance, auto insurance, motorcycle insurance, homeowner's insurance, mortgage insurance, disability insurance, life insurance, general liability insurance...now, firearm insurance. right....wtf!

    Just a thought...

    DAs like to consider things like certain types of amminution, and customizations on firearms to show premeditation...

    Couldnt they then make the argument that you had every intent to shoot someone, since, you know, you bought the state mandated insurance?

    This insurance would be a big money maker because few claims would ever get paid. Liability insurance pays for covered accidents but not deliberate acts. Self defense shootings are done on purpose so they would not be covered. If you were an insurance company, would you cover lead airplanes? Of course you would because, even if one was built, it would never get off the ground. True accidents are another matter as is insurance to cover the cost of a legal defense in a firearms discharge incident.
