Repeated removal of fasteners is a different situation, then yes, a heli-coil would be a better option, but for something that will rarely if ever be removed, I wouldn't bother. How many scope rings are made out of aluminum, yet have no heli-coil or threaded insert? Proper torque for the fastener and loc-tite and you'll be set.
