That's been a long time anomaly when it comes to Canada and firearms. For some reason they have been cheaper in canada for the last decade plus. They were as cheap as $125-150 in Canada as recently as 2014.

It's not an anomaly, its supply and demand.

They are still being imported into Canada so the price is lower than here since we have what we have and that's it.

SVTs are also plentiful in Canada, occasionally you'll see a refurbished "non-import" for sale here in the states, its most likely a "walk across", a smuggled gun from Canada.

They can also get the all the Norinco toys that we can't.
