This is one of the events that I do as a Conservation Volunteer for DCNR. Come on out if you're near NEPA.

Join Conservation Volunteer Sandcut, of Sandcut Outdoors, on Sunday, June 4, 2017 to celebrate the end of Hiking Week. The approximately 4+ mile hike will run from 9 am to approximately 2 pm and will proceed at a leisurely pace in order to allow hikers time to explore the area and have time for breaks/lunch. Meet at the double gate entrance to the Carvolth Campsite Road on Pittston Road (41.244662, -75.631883) approximately 0.5 mile north of the Pine Hill observation tower, in the Pinchot State Forest (formerly Lackawanna State Forest), in Thornhurst, PA 18424. Space is limited to 25 hikers (no dogs, please). All hikers should be able to hike steep, uneven and rocky terrain. Bring sufficient water, snacks/lunch and insect repellant. The hike is free, but pre-registration is required by emailing SandcutOutdoorsLLC@gmail.com
