Dying Sig Brace
I picked up two Sig Braces, directly from Sig, for 32 bucks shipped to my door.
The "problem"? They are pink.
One will be used for a build for the wife/daughters.
The other will go on my pistol.
Just wondering if anyone has experience in using RIT dye to color one? Ive read that it can work.
If you have a Sig Brace, and have altered the color from what it was, please let me know your method, and how successful you were! What worked? What didnt?
Pictures would be awesome.
Thanks!

Re: Dying Sig Brace
I have used RIT dye on a lot of things, with good success. Even though I haven't used it on a SIG brace, I believe it would work well.

Re: Dying Sig Brace
I could be wrong but I don't think RIT dye will stain a high density plastic. RIT is made for porous materials dyed in water. High density plastic is not porous and repels water.
It might come out with some of the color you dyed it but when dried it will probably rub off and leave stains everywhere. A colored cheek would be fun to explain. And if you get a stain on your shoulder it would be proof you committed a felony!
Your best bet would be to paint it. But even then you will need to etch the glaze off of the plastic for the paint to stick.

Re: Dying Sig Brace
You should dye it rainbow colors
I just think about this like a scene out of a cheesy action movie where the super macho bad guy is thrown into the water which washes the paint off of his brace to reveal that it's actually pink. After a brief pause of disbelief and shame he knows that his fate is sealed...Last edited by Marcus99; May 25th, 2017 at 08:31 PM.

Re: Dying Sig Brace
Just use plastic primer and you'll be good to go.

Re: Dying Sig Brace
I got 2 gen 1's for 9.95 each. Saw it on slicks. I have nothing to put them on yet. Couldn't pass them up.
