Finally, I have decided (to my wife's happiness...) to apply for membership to PMSC.

My wife and I will be heading out for the June 7 meeting. If any PMSC members form this forum are going to be there, please introduce yourselves.

Welcome to the club. Or should I say possible future welcome if they let you in. Great choice and I'm sure you and your wife will love it here like the rest of us.

I would love to join that club. At the group shoot I asked a couple members. Despite bringing the best bacon they ever tasted, a M1A and my natural good looks; no one seemed interested in helping me out. Did I mention my natural good looks? Bastards. Next group shoot i am thinking of bringing a smoked brisket. Maybe that will get me some attention.

I'm surprised no one offer to sponsor you. They did close membership for a short period but it's back open so that may be why no one offered. Like others have said go the the June meeting and someone will sponsor you but don't forget the smoked brisket at the June group shoot.

Well, my wife and I are now members. We went out to run some drills this morning ... great time, its nice to have a bay to yourself to do some moving and shooting, shooting from cover, multiple targets, etc...

Still, the drive 47 minutes to get there, 54 to get back. I guess it is what it is.
We currently have plans to shoot there on the 2nd & 4th Mondays of each month.

I stopped on Sunday for a half hour to adjust a gas block and there were plenty of open bays up top.
Saw couples shooting both days we were there this past week and that's something nice to see.

Shit! Just as long as you don't plan on going the 3rd Sunday of every month for the rest of this year between 8:30AM - 12:30!
I just received notice that the board is closing all the ranges on those dates and times for work parties.

Do you go by way of the parkway?
I don't live too far from you and found the back way ( Broughton rd, Lebanon church, McKeesport, 148, 30 and 48 is about 55 min and pretty consistant.

If there is 1 minor problem on the parkway, it magnifies travel time quite a bit.

That way, we have gone out via the parkway before to several functions out at PMSC in the past, and the drive was the same 45-50 mins, but on a couple of occasions we got stuck in traffic and it took close to 1.5 hours to get back.

Just no shortcut at all. But having the bays to yourself is pretty nice
I have a friend who lives in West Mifflin (near Anthony Arms) that I'm going to try to convince to join PMSC - for him it would be a nice 20-25 min drive.

Don't feel bad Hawk, the other club I belong to is closed until 1pm on Sunday year round.
