M1 Carbine legal in MD?
I will meet a guy in W. Va. over the weekend. He has done me some favors, big ones. I would like to give him a carbine, ammo, and two 10-rpund mags. He lives in Maryland. Is a Carbine legal in Md.? Need an answer by tomorrow morning. My fallback would be a Ruger 10/22, I assume that would be OK?
Thanks in advance!

I'mnot sure about the M1A,but I do want to make sure you know it has to be transferred at an FFL since he is not a PA resident.

Re: M1 Carbine legal in MD?
My reading of the Maryland law says that the only version that is now banned is the folding stock variant or a M1 carbine converted to use a folding stock. Of course I'm just another person on a gun forum. You might try the Maryland Gun Owners forum or call a Maryland dealer to ask since they SHOULD know what they are legally allowed to sell there.

You'll need to do a FFL transfer. One in W VA will be fine since it's going to be a rifle (handguns must be transferred in receiver's home state).
Not sure about M1 carbines and MD but regardless I would call the FFL in W VA to make sure they will complete a transfer to a MD resident. Good luck!

Thanks All!
I did call a MD Dealer and check. The rifle is in new hands. BTW, I am a FFL.
