State Police Sue Gun Maker, Citing Defective Handguns
The lawsuit says that many of the guns malfunctioned by not ejecting shell casings when fired.
Author: Associated Press
TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey has sued gun manufacturer Sig Sauer, saying it sold defective handguns to the state police.
The company, based in Newington, New Hampshire, sold 3,000 handguns to New Jersey State Police for nearly $2 million.
But the lawsuit says that when the weapons were delivered in 2014, many of the guns malfunctioned by not ejecting shell casings when fired.
The lawsuit says Sig Sauer failed to provide new guns to the state by an agreed-upon date.
New Hampshire Public Radio reports that the New Jersey attorney general has filed a breach of contract complaint, seeking a refund, plus nearly $900,000 to cover the cost of purchased holsters.
Sig Sauer didn't respond to a request for comment.

Re: NJ State Police Sue Sig Sauer
Shrug.
Sig Sauer has a long reputation of reliability and trustworthiness.
NJSP has a long reputation of corruption and deceit."Cives Arma Ferant"

Re: NJ State Police Sue Sig Sauer
I remember in (I think) the early 90's, I read an article in either Pravda or The Star Ledger. It said that the then current PRNJP issued .40 S&W's had a 40% rate of failure to fire.

Re: NJ State Police Sue Sig Sauer
Simple solution: stop selling your firearms in the state of NJ, period (And CA, NY, MD, MA, and CT too). When their police can't protect them, and the people can't protect themselves, something is bound to change.
Resistance to tyrants is obedience to God.

Re: NJ State Police Sue Sig Sauer
I read Sig's response, the issues seem to be limited to training ammo & not the chosen duty load.

Re: NJ State Police Sue Sig Sauer
PRNJ is a liberal stronghold. All they know how to do is blame everything and everyone else but themselves when things go wrong.
It's a machine and will fail at some point for some reason. If the troopers actually knew anything about firearms (beyond which end the boo-boo comes from), they would know how to troubleshoot the problem.
