I have a 500 round ammo box full of this, but I can't figure it out. Any help.

That is something of a head scratcher. I'm inclined to say that its commercial since the caliber is stamped. What kind of bullet and is the case mouth sealed?

I think it's a form of Cyrillic. The 3 is a z in Ukrainian, for example. The A and the N can also be Cyrillic. The combination of Cyrillic and Arabic numerals is a clue too.

Yep, looks to be Ukrainian commercial stuff. Probably wolf branded.

    Looks to be corrosive then?

Its some kind of Commie ammo. Good stuff for your average AK / SKS but I would treat it as being corrosive. A few minutes extra cleaning can save you a heartache.

    Blast away!

From a link from Raxar's link: Sometime around 2008, LCW began marking civilian ammunition with ‘ЛПЗ’ (Cyrillic ‘LPZ’ for Luganskij Patronnyj Zavod, or Lugansk Cartridge Works). The use of the ‘LCW’ headstamp code has been seen in literature, but has not been documented on cartridges until now. It is unknown precisely when LCW transitioned from ‘ЛПЗ’ to this marking practice.

You can test a round to see if the ammo is corrosive. Find a scrap sheet of iron and sand an area till it is in the white (and no oil). Pull the bullet and ALL of the powder and fire the primer at the steel with the muzzle almost touching (eyes and ears are recommended). Then clean your barrel (just in case) and let the plate sit somewhere humid for a week (or two).

If the steel rusts it is corrosive.

I did that once with a 50bmg round, on plywood.
    Was I surprised.
