    Default Sig P238 sear spring

While reassembling my P238 Sig I noticed I have the pre-2015 sear spring. Should I update this to the current spring? Was the change to the design safety or reliability related? Thanks in advance.

I'm only going on memmory but reliability. I recall the early ones having problems in gun tests magazine.

Thanks. I saw Hogue sells a kit to upgrage it. I think Sig also sells a little parts assortment with it included. You also have to change the Mainspring Housing as well. I haven't had a single problem with it yet however for $20 it's a worthwhile improvement. Thanks for your response.

Replace it. Given enough rounds it will peen the little plastic tab on the MS housing and it will walk up and lock up the fire control group. Sig will replace the housing for free when that happens but they won't give you a free upgrade. I asked for an upgrade and was denied and when it later walked up they replaced it with the newer style.

Thanks. Looking at the design I can see how that could occur. I'll get the parts ordered.
