Can someone just give an honest answer without the bullshit?

Yes I've searched all I find is people posting their information about their shield and not where to get the info online.

Nice dinner, good wine, candlelight, soft music...

If that doesn't work, slip it a roofie and nail it.

Might get a more serious answer at the smith&wesson forums.

Any luck finding the dark barcode on the gun? I thought that was a serious answer. I'm going to try it with mine soon.

I tried to get info on a model 10 and found most people telling me to buy the book. S&W puts out a book to look up manufacture dates. No one would look it up for me because they paid for the book and I did not.

On a more serious note, if you lube the barrel enough you should have no problem dating your gun.
    Some people just plain suck.
If you're gonna be dumb ya gotta be tough.
