Re: Any suggestions on using aperature (peep) sights?
Fully agree . Just forget about centering the post in the rear sight that will happen automatically focus on that front sight actually just the top of it . Also a good target is key to good accuracy for 50 yds that your shooting just make a black 3" bullseye on your paper and choose whatever hold your comfortable with 6 o'clock or center of mass both work well .

Re: Any suggestions on using aperature (peep) sights?
Tim has a good point. Get a target with a solid black center. Easier to focus on than the red and white target. I was taught to make your sight picture a "pumpkin on a post" That's a 6 o'clock hold. More ammo, more targets and practice= tight groups.

Another target to try is an upsidedown "T"

I assume you are shooting from a bench with some kind of support?
Don't take offense, but you're probably just being lazy. I guarantee if you increased your concentration level to the max and added in proper breathing and trigger control, and top edge of front site focus, you could cut the size of your group in half.Toujours prêt

Re: Any suggestions on using aperature (peep) sights?
How could I be offended by that?
It may also be the fact that i should be wearing trifocals but I couldn't see both the front site AND the target at the same time if I did.
But yes, I was shooting off a bag on a bench rest. But like I said, the biggest problem that I found was that I wasn't getting a natural centering in the rear site. Maybe I just need to shoot it more or maybe I'm just weird from too much Communism.Sed ego sum homo indomitus
