Re: No sheriff, county can't issue LTCF. Options?
This is covered in the linked article in the first post, as well. Designating an acting sheriff is on the governor's list of things to do, but hasn't happened yet. Apparently, Wolf is in no hurry to do so... perhaps because Blair County overwhelmingly voted against him in the election. The article says it "might" happen in early June. Add in the backlog, and I'll probably be without a LTCF for six weeks or longer. That's if he appoints someone in early June, and it could be longer.

Re: No sheriff, county can't issue LTCF. Options?
Two people ran for sheriff in yesterday's primary. But that's a primary. The general election is in November and a new elected sheriff won't take office until January 2018. The governor has to appoint an acting sheriff to take us through the end of the year. No, you don't have to be an attorney. Both guys who ran were former LEOs, not lawyers.

Re: No sheriff, county can't issue LTCF. Options?
thats what i thought. being leo or former leo isn't a requirement either, was my understanding.
surprised more people aren't willing to take a job that ?pays? to ensure our 2A will be protected and avoid having another anti take the throne like here in monroe.
i do understand they will need someone on interim but still, if memory serves, our sheriff here generally runs without competition, with exception to last election. There is no way to make it out alive...

Hello, what does it cost to "renew" my second amendment right? And how much do the rest of the amendments cost?

Re: No sheriff, county can't issue LTCF. Options?
A few years ago Northampton county did not have a sheriff for quite a while. They still issued . So the deputies took over until they got a new one. It took 52 days for my ltcf to be renewed back then and I called because of it taking so long my ltcf expired. They told me I was ok to carry because if I was ever stopped and checked ,they would see it being processed.

a lot less than it costs to get caught exercising without your permission slip.
