I've been to that gas station many times and used to live on the 1900 block of devereaux ave. They are almost a mile apart. Thats gotta be tough to run with a bullet in his back.
Too bad he did'nt bleed out on thye way.

BTW: Things like this are the reason my family moved from there. As soon as the section 8 people moved in things got really bad. The crackhouse up the street was the final straw for us.

Attempted Carjacking Suspect Shot In Oxford Circle
PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― A would-be carjacking suspect is in the hospital after his targeted victim turned the tables on the suspect in Northeast Philadelphia Wednesday evening.

The incident happened at about 6:30 p.m. outside a Hess gas station on the Roosevelt Boulevard near Bustleton Avenue in Oxford Circle.

According to police, a customer was pumping gas when a suspect came up and attempted to carjack the victim's SUV.

A struggle ensued over the gun and during the altercation, the suspect was shot in the back.

The suspect then fled the scene but eventually collapsed on a porch in the 1900 block of Deveraux Avenue. He was then taken into police custody.

The suspect was transported to Temple University Hospital with a lower back wound and was listed in stable condition.

There were no reports of any other injuries.

The incident remains under investigation.

The shot in the back could have also occurred during the melee.
