    Default Ballistics software question

I used the Sierra Infinity software to generate a ballistics table for the load I worked up for my .308. I like the software, however I found that my MOA adjustment differed from the table generated by the software.
At two and three hundred yards, my adjustment was 1/4 MOA less than what was generated by the software. I double and triple checked the data I entered to generate the table (bullet velocity, sight height, barrel length, twist rate, etc.), and it is correct. I generated the table assuming zero wind and no adjustments for weather, altitude density, etc. Bullet velocity entered was an average over 100 rounds fired. I cannot account for the discrepancy at such short distance.

My gripe is that I would like to recalculate the ballistics table using the corrected MOA adjustment, but the Infinity software doesn't do that. The tables it generates are static.

Is there a ballistics software program out there that will dynamically recalculate the table when inputting different MOA adjustments?

I don't remember what softwares I have used and that computer is dead. 1/4 MOA aint much. Yeah, I know, some people want every last bit, but all the parameters you mentioned are going to have an affect. You might try changing the ballistic coefficient until it spits out an adjustment that matches the adjustment you are finding correct and then reshoot at various ranges and see if it works better.

You need to adjust the velocity setting.

    Ballistic AE will do this.

Boy, I say boy, you're reaching the limits of my medication!

I'm not familiar with that particular program but did you account for the height over bore of the scope? I just checked mine and a 0.3" difference in scope height gave me almost 1/4 MOA difference in trajectory.

That is only one possibility but it is one that could be easily overlooked.
