Re: Gun auction
I was there. Very few bargains, and the auctioneers were inept. Had at least one do-over after the gavel fell, because someone claimed he bid higher but was ignored; this was likely true, because several of my bids were ignored despite my standing up and waving my arms.
The bid increments were too high, jumping directly from $1000 to $1250, which makes a difference if the auctioneer shows preference for 2 guys up front. I'm willing to vie for a place as the high bidder, I'm not willing be ignored until everyone else is done, then be allowed to outbid everybody else by another $250. If something is worth $2250, I should have a shot at bidding on it at $2250, the auctioneer shouldn't go back and forth between JoeBob and BobbyJoe until they both give up, then allow others to bid.
Most guns sold at or above market, though, so it's barely worth the trip and the time.Last edited by GunLawyer001; May 7th, 2010 at 02:24 AM.

Re: Gun auction
I was there also. The only bargins I seen were on Friday evening. I picked up 1000 9mm rounds for $4.50 a box, which is better then buying them retail.
I couldn't get a bargin on Sat. to save my life....On other gun sales there in previous years I have walked away with bargins, but this one there were none.
I will wait and see what they have for the fall gun sale
