Till he swoops down and eats your cat or dog. Then we will see how it is.

The best view I had was a Eagle and a Osprey fighting over my head while fishing in a tourney on the potomac river MD. We also have a few around lake redman in york.

That was a couple years ago, and I hadn't seen another one again until recently, when I found out a few of them are nesting near my home. I mentioned it to a neighbor who directed me to the web site below for reporting sitings and seeing where others have seen them. The link is for PA, but clicking on Return in the upper left corner will take you to a page with links to the other states.

The next time you're up at your camp take a drive to George B. Stevenson Reservoir. There use to be a nesting pair of eagles there. A few years ago I was fishing there in my canoe and paddled under a hemlock and saw one of them just above me in a Hemlock. If they’re not there the trip down 872 to Sinnemahoning IMO is one of the best drives in the state. Win win

Thanks, I'll do that! They're supposed to be pretty active starting right about now, and I'll be up there in a couple weeks so I'll make sure I've got the binoculars and a zoom lens. I thought I saw one a few weeks ago, but I was driving up 44 in a land yacht so I couldn't take my eyes of the road long enough to get a good look and there's not a whole lot of room on the shoulder to pull over.

Here's the best picture I could get of the eagle I saw from the Strasburg train. It was kind of hard holding the camera steady with my head hanging out the window of a moving train, but I wasn't going to miss the photo op, no matter how bad it turned out.

Saw two bald eagles this morning flying upriver over the Clarion River in Ridgway as I was getting out of the car to visit a client. I found out that this nesting pair has been living on the hill above the Clarion River for several years now.
