Re: Gander Mountain Going Out of Business - NATIONWIDE
Well, early on in the thread I noted that his criticism of Gander's business choices provided a big clue to his personal beliefs when he said something along the lines of "Gander chose to bet on selling weapons..."
The use of the word "weapons" is very telling.
Doesn't matter though. From reading this thread it's clear that low prices are all that matters.
Hillary could be appointed the CEO and they could donate to anti gun groups, but if they sell 22LR for fifty cents a box less than Cabelas, they will have plenty of supporters/customers - just like Dick's.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Re: Gander Mountain Going Out of Business - NATIONWIDE
Stopped in again this weekend.
Walked out with nothing again.
Still no deals.
Ammo now 5% sale, firearms still 10%.
Other crap 20% but found nothing I wanted, needed, or was actually a deal.
Go ahead and close the doors.Galations 6:9...And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

WJAC posted that the Johnstown store is going to remain opened.
It's funny to read the comments where people say it was just a marketing scam to raise money.

Re: Gander Mountain Going Out of Business - NATIONWIDE
Went to warrington store last weekend. with the "up to 60% off" I saw nothing 60% off. Ammo was at like 10% off and guns 10 or 15%. Ammo prices still well above walmart/online. Guns still above sale prices most everywhere. Gear was still overpriced. Some brand name optics at 10-15% off might be an ok deal but wasn't looking to spend $300-400 still on a scope that day. Only real deal I could see was if I was some left handed $400 bows were down at $280, but I'm not left handed (Right handed same bow was still $330).

The alleged deals on fishing equipment are actually rather laughable. I get the feeling this is going to drag on for a long time. They are not selling jack shit at this stage. The prices are so over-inflated, it is no wonder they went out of business. When you make Cabela's look good, you have a real problem with your business model.
