Re: Gander Mountain Going Out of Business - NATIONWIDE
All the ones around here (except the new giant one they just opened) have been going out of business for MONTHS.
They drag it out so they get everyone to buy all the "discounted" items while they are still at or near full price. People will buy anything if it says "20% OFF!"
Yes, their prices were high - we know. Still sucks to see them go.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

#1 and I stopped at one last year near Harrisburg. They were definitely closing up and the prices were marked down on a lot of stuff we looked at.
Plus, I'd like to find some subsonic .22's.Rules are written in the stone,

You had to wait for the 50% mark for there to be anything close to a good deal... Everything marked up to be marked down of course.
Kinda crazy to think they opened the Monroeville store not too long ago just to kill it. Kinda sucks that there's less choices now, even as much money as they charged.

I worked there for a few years during college, can't say that I didn't see this coming a LONG time ago. Bittersweet to see it go. They were great when stores first started popping up all over the place years ago because there was nothing else like it around.
I must say that I got some GREAT deals on used guns while working there.Last edited by Marcus99; May 5th, 2017 at 09:23 PM.

I read on another forum that Camping World is picking up some of the GM stores. I don't know if it's to diversify or for new eventual store fronts.
Anyway Gander Mountain sucks. They were a good mail order catalog 25-30 years ago.
I walked into a GM once, and was not impressed by their prices or inventory. Think i purchased a lightweight fleece jacket to toss in the backpack.

I didn't darken a GM door when they WERE in business, and I'm not doing so as they liquidate.
