I bought a used WASR at the Greensburg store back in 06 I think, $200. That was the only weapon or weapon related purchase I have ever made at GM.
Fishing gear though, when timed right I have bought a pile of stuff with sales going on. Got a few pretty decent steelhead rods at $30-40 that I loan or have sold to first timers that don't want to sink a pile of money into gear to not like combat fishing.

I don't do GM, Dicks, F&S, Dunhams or Cabelas. I buy almost exclusively from LGSs, either in their brick and mortar stores or gun shows they frequent. I grew up in a small family owned business and I'm empathetic / sympathetic to the same in gun shops. I'm not the kind of person to drive an hour one way to save 25 cents a box on a brick of 22s. I live by the rule of Total Cost of Acquisition. Purchase price, time, fuel, wear and tear on the vehicle, etc., all get factored in. If I'm driving by a Cabelas (or other big chain) I'll stop and look, but even then I rarely buy.

    Shop small.

After dealing with the asshole manager in Greensburg and not getting a reply from corporate after the lying asshole laughing at me and calling me a criminal in front of customers and employees, screw Gander Mtn with a Dicks store.

I'm glad to see them go.

Many Gander Mtn stores didn't even carry semiauto pistols.

Anyone remember when the Johnstown store opened?
Not a single semi in the place except for shotguns.

They were anti before being anti was cool.

Nope, just a one time thing. I was buying a couple of combos from him, and he tossed in the box of plastics and a Billy Bass for $10.

The kids love the Billy Bass.

I was at the Washington store after Robinson closed looking at a Sig 938.
Their price at that time was at 10% off and IIRC was still higher than anywhere else ( maybe except Dunhams).

I might go back to see if their store furniture prices came down for a couple clothes racks for camp.
