    Default Sig Sauer STX? Opinions?

Anyone own/shoot one? Think I might pick one up tonight.

I have one. It's a nice piece. The trigger is a little on the heavy side out of the box and while it does get a little better with use, it isn't as nice as I'd like it to be for a pistol in that price range.

I've been drooling over one for awhile. Still waiting for a job promotion or something to justify the large purchase. But I also still would really prefer a Dan Wesson specialist which is even more coin.

Post pics and let us know what you think + range report

    Congrats!

I've felt some very nice 1911s in my day. This is one of the nicest.

Trigger is about 3.5lbs, albeit, a little long on the pull being that it's an 80s series action.

Action is smoothhhhh like buttah. The cut serations really grip well but aren't too sharp. The top serations are both beautiful and effective.

Ambi controls are tactile but I really wish the slide stop/release was a little longer.

Sights are adjustable and pretty cool. Night sights in the circle on horizontal line pattern.

Overall, fit and finish are very nice. I'm excited to bring it to the range.

I was out of town and did not see the original post until today. I have owned one for several years. Very nice shooter. I have found over the few years that the wood darkened a bit, but it is a light wood. I was told that is normal. Darker wood grips you would not see the color change as much. Can't say that it is because of anything I used to wipe the gun down. I was going to buy the TTT until I saw the STX. I also own a Super Target in the Nitron finish. Different sights and grip, but just as nice.

Yeah, the burled maple is beautiful. However, they are a bit slick. I guess that's why they made the front strap checkering so aggressive! Ouch.

Good to hear you're happy with it! That makes me feel a bit more at-ease.
