Looking for a new rifle.....

The cheapest rifle ammo is .223 and 7.62x39. If you want to shoot more buy a mid priced AR or pick up an AK. I have both and I'm not a fan of the AK. I always wanted a Garand. My buddy just picked one up at the Knob Creek shoot for about $850. Ammo is not cheap but they are really cool.

There are a lot of rifles in that range that would be great. I have always been a cheap bastard, and could never justify one purchase for that kind of money... I would probably buy an AR, 10-22, and a bolt action .22 of some sort (savage ?)and ammo... one Rifle? maybe a Kimber.

Thanks for your reply, I don't know why some guys take pride in being cheap.
I can buy a cheap .22 & still not be satisfied with what I bought. Then I realize that I still have to scratch my original itch, which in the long run winds up costing me more.
I don't mind spending money for quality, I believe in the buy once, cry once theory.
