I would skip the stock. Buy an 18" black hole weaponry barrel and save a little more for a trigger. Ive changed the optics many times on my Ar. (HEADED TO THE RANGE NOW TO ZERO A NEW 4X12 VORTEX) ive had red dots, eotech a 4 x 16, a fixed 4x on it. I built it to be like a DMR. And realized my group size depends 100% on my eyesight and magnification. With a red dot its a 3moa rifle with 16x scope it will shoot 3/8 all day with handloads. This 4 x 12 is a comprimise, but it is so light and that coints for a lot too.

If you are really interested in long range shooting I would try it with the equipment you have for a little while then decide what equipment you need. A big part of good long range shooting is being comfortable with your equipment, what words for me may not work for you. I like FFP scopes with Christmas tree reticles while my buddy likes SFP with a simple three hash mark BDC. It's all about finding what you like best.
    Great remarks....

The missus came home today from a lightly attended firearms auction at Alderfers with a new FFP scope with Christmas tree reticle: a Schmidt Bender 5x25x56 PM II in MRAD and an H-59 illuminated reticle for her Ruger Precision 6.5 Creedmoor in what looks like apparently unused condition.

We'll get it mounted this week and get it zeroed. The scope (with rings and Butler Creek scope covers) - for a hammer price of $1,800. She always wanted one of those but didn't want to pay $3,600 - roughly the retail price.
