Re: Favorite Hunting Rifle
I've used a 1976 Remington 700 BDL chambered in .270 Win. that was my father's as long as I could hunt. I've never taken a deer with any other rifle.

Re: Favorite Hunting Rifle
I bought a Mossberg 810AH,(.30-06), new in 1975. Must'a got a good one, it still does 1" 3 shot groups. Was going to be my every big game rifle. Never had it out of the state...
For those who've never fought for it, the price of freedom shall never be known.

Re: Favorite Hunting Rifle
The one I've used the longest is my Browning A-Bolt, now threaded and muzzle device equipped for one of my cans. Most elegant? Pre-64 M70 in .264. Favorite to use? Probably my 6.8 AR, though I'm working on a .308 AR that once I get an adjustable gas block and can mount on it I think it's going to be really really fun. PA isn't the only state to hunt in, ya know.

Re: Favorite Hunting Rifle
Ruger 77/357 along with my ruger Blackhawk 357. The longest shot I've had to take on a deer recently has been well with 100 yards. The majority have been on the outer edge of bow range. And a 158 gr flat point bullet(NOT a hollow point) does a fantastic job of killing at that distance.

Re: Favorite Hunting Rifle
Mine has always been something in the 30/06 have several Rem. 760's, a Browning A Bolt 2 and a Browning BLR in the 06 but as of lately it's a Browning X Bolt in 6.5 Creedmoor and for deer it's a hammer, I haven't used it for bear yet maybe this year I'm still working on heavier bullet loads.
