    Default Compound Bow Question

Recently bought a house and found a Hoyt Hunter Compound Bow in the basement. Only problem is that the string and cable are both completely destroyed. All i know about the bow is that its 55-70lb, 30" string, 30" draw length and 46.5" cable length. Would this be suitable for whitetail if I get it up and running? I've shot a bow in the past but that's it, i never hunted with one though

I mean, bow certainly sounds capable. Get it strung up and setup for your draw length. Leave it at around 60lb for now. Cut some arrows and get to practicing.

(what do you mean by destroyed btw?)

I highly recomend an Archery shop that will check out and see the condition like, wheels, cracks etc,but if worthy of repair it would certainley be good for whitetail deer !

Not sure what your draw length is, but you might have a hard time finding the modules to change draw length if you are longer or shorter than 30".

It doesn't take much to kill a PA whitetail, so the bow you mentioned will be plenty for hunting.

String was torn to shreds, cables weren't much better. Now I just need to find a shop that's reasonably priced. 1 place I called wanted $150 installed while I can get the string & cables for $40 (60 with peep, looper & kisser) but I can't run the cables without a bow vise or some DIY jig. I might just make a jig and do it myself to save $100

Sorry, I guess? Lol. Is that the archery version of calling a magazine a clip? My idea of a press is rooted in 20-100 ton presses. I know some bow presses use a bottle jack but it's not a true press to me
