Ruger LCP alternatives...
I was interested in getting a Ruger LCP, until I was informed of the ridiculously long back order. I checked out the Keltec p3at and while it is pretty much what I'm looking for (very small, decently large caliber, lightweight, and easy to use) it overall felt cheaply made. I definitely like the Ruger much better. I'm getting it for myself initially, but hoping my fiance with carry it. She was so against me carrying when we first got together, now she is okay with it. She said she would never shoot my gun (glock 30) and then she did and liked it. Now she said she wants a gun for the house. I'm hoping I can get her to get a LTCF because of her profession, as it seems like the next logical step. Anyway, what are your suggestions for a subcompact/pocket pistol. I'd like to keep it in the $400 range.
I'm not totally opposed to the keltec either. I just heard of a lot of jamming issues as well.

I really like my Seacamp .32acp. Great fit and finish and good little shooter to!
I'm not mean. I'm realistic.

Re: Ruger LCP alternatives...
I had a Kel Tec P3AT for a couple of years before sending it on to my son-in-law. I replaced it with a Kel Tec PF9. I haven't had any problems with either, although the P3AT needs to be kept clean to cycle properly. I haven't found out how dirty the PF9 can get yet.

Re: Ruger LCP alternatives...
We have 2 P3ATs in the house, both carried daily for a year and 9 months now. Mine has around 1000 rounds through it, hers has around 700. Both have been great performers. I did smooth out the casting flash with very light sandpaper, and did a "fluff and buff" to both of them the day we purchased them.
I also have a P11. I've run around 500 rounds through it, so far, so good.
From my experience, I'd recommend the Kel-Tec. Are there better finished options out there? Sure is.

Re: Ruger LCP alternatives...
IIRC the LCP IS the P3AT in ruger trim... doesn't feel as cheap as the kel tec but they are the same gun...

Well, there you go.
The kel-tecs feel cheap, but they work. I have a p-11 and it has never had any kind of failure.
If you could stand something a little bigger I'd say a Kahr CW9
Kahr is coming out with a small .380 about the size of the LCP but I don't know when it will be out.

I have two p3at's. #1 did not like WW silvertips, would not feed them. Never tried them in #2 because I went to PowRBall for my carry ammo. Neither one has ever jammed with PowRBall.

Re: Ruger LCP alternatives...
Just bought a Keltec P3AT last weekend, haven't shot it yet. Got it for 244, only saw one Ruger LCP, and it was listed for 339.00 which is 10 over msrp.
Figure why give ruger the extra scratch, when I can use it for ammo.
