I have never read any negative posts about Rudy (Macon Armory) on AR15.com. I think you'll be happy , keep us posted..

I've followed a few of Macon's threads on arfcom, they are pretty knowledgeable on these pistol caliber conversions. I may get one of these down the road.

Yeah, no doubt about Rudy. Good words about him at that site...which is pretty amazing considering how toxic some of those threads get in the blink of an eye, lol.

    That's awesome.

I would like to do the same but finances being what they are, it may never happen.
I have a GWACS Armory CAV-15 MKII lower that can be fitted with a 45ACP mag block due to the purposely designed wider magwell specs.

I was toying with the idea off and on. Maybe one of these days.
I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Is the mag adapter fastened into to a standard lower?

Didja use drywall screws, duct tape, or JB Weld?

Just kidding- but how is it held in?

lol, none of that stuff, but yes the adapter is inserted into a standard lower. In this case, I bought a Ruger ar556 stripped lower. The adapter is held in place by a top screw that came with a normal flat washer. It interfered with the mating surface between the lower and upper so I took a slightly larger flat washer and ground a flat spot on it. Then there's two 8-32 setscrews that angle up towards the front of the mag well to stiffen it up. I backed those up with another set of setscrews so they don't loosen and mess up my aluminum.

Thanks! I say go for it. I, myself, wanted to keep the budget lower than it ended up being ( I don't really want to tally it up, because it feels like I spent a lot), but sometimes you just have to go for it. Life is too short.
